“I can’t go back to yesterday - because I was a different person then.” - Lewis Carroll

Take a moment. Settle in, perhaps with a cup of oolong tea at hand.

Everything I collect, everything I write, is fundamentally a letter to myself—reminders and reflections that I need to encounter. These are the insights that keep me grounded and propel me forward.

Who am I? Early in my career, I was fortunate to be part of the early product teams at Uber - leading the ML teams building out the driver incentive mechanisms to personalize promotions for the workers that power our convenience economy, and launching the white label fulfillment and merchant API platform for DoorDash (Drive) which led to DoorDash's expansion into grocery, retail and dark stores. From there, I ventured into the world of investing with a16z, and spinning up PearX, the accelerator arm of PearVC.

I hold the view that although human beings come with some initial programming through our ancestry, we refine and adjust ourselves through our experiences and the information we consume throughout our lives - much like pre-trained agents.

I recognize this isn’t a new insight. Even the etymology of the word "ape" carries dual meanings as both "primate" and "imitate," (eg. "to ape another's manner of speech" is to copy it) which underscores the idea that much of human behavior and context is learned through imitation. Absent this mechanism, culture as we know it would cease to exist.

Similarly, I see a clear parallel in how computing is evolving today, mirroring these human cognitive processes. My hope is that I can contribute a small role in keeping the future of computing open so that ideas can cross-pollinate across different ideologies, disciplines, and places.

If you share a passion for building and tinkering - whether as a founder, engineering, product manager, researcher, or analyst - and if collaboration and self-discovery excite you, then perhaps the thoughts I gather and share might resonate with you as well. Who knows? These musings may offer you a moment of reflection to consider on your own path.

I'll leave you with the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland - "If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there."

This journey, undefined as it may initially appear, is often enriched by stories we consume and adventures we take unplanned.
